Light Qualities is an exciting series of four concerts presented by emerging Sydney-based composer-performer collective Konzertprojekt in collaboration with St Stephen’s Uniting Church. The mini-festival showcases a diverse range of Australian music focusing on new music and emerging musicians, and presents up-and-coming musical voices of Sydney.
Each of the Light Qualities concerts takes its title from a different method of photo manipulation. The fourth concert, Brightness (the luminance in an image) is the culmination of the Light Qualities mini-festival with performances from newly formed chamber collective Ensemble Terra and recorder quartet The Judgement of Paris. Works by a range of Australian composers including Stuart Greenbaum and MatthewHindson are performed alongside those of emerging early-career composers, giving audiences a selection of existing and new Australian music to enjoy.
Konzertprojekt members Lachlan Foster and Gabrielle Cadenhead, as well as guest composer Christine Pan, each contribute new works in response to the idea of Brightness, which will be premiered on the night.
Come to this concert to discover exciting new ensembles perform an all Australian program.
