Torus is a playful wavy reflection of light and sound expressions that interacts with people’s vibrations and emotions. The arrangement comes from shaping and twisting a wide triangular form across a circular, enveloping surface. Torus is inspired by the mathematical equation known as the Fibonacci sequence. This inescapable equation is found in ever-spiralling patterns in nature and is believed to be the perfect balance of form in the universe.

Torus is also inspired by the representation of sound waves and the ‘unorientable’ mathematical elements that inhabit and rule our universe. As audiences traverse the centre of the form, they are surrounded by sound, light, movement and colour. By beating luminous drums, visitors activate the sculpture causing it to change colour and brightness as it becomes an immersive musical instrument. Activity also triggers different pre-programmed animations that accentuate the form of the sculpture.
